Spring is almost here! time to get rid of the winter clutter and redecorate!
If your like me at all, I can't wait to open up the windows and let the breeze filter out my stuffy house that has been shut up all winter long. I have been thinking of some new ideas for my home as well as some outdoor projects to get started on these next few months, so chirp in if you have an idea you would like to share also! love to hear from you~
First, time to reorganize a few rooms again and get the winter clothing/gear packed away. I found that buying some tubs or containers that go on sale is a great way to store hats, gloves, scarves, and coats. If you buy the large plastic tubs they hold a lot of clothing and can be stacked in a storage area and won't get dusty or mildew on them. (also helps save space in your closets)
Next, time to clean and dust off the shelves and decide if you want to rearrange the room or get some fresh new decor! I have some lovely dried flower arrangements and silk flowers that need some cleaning up. First, I take a blow dryer and blow off any dust or cobwebs that might have developed over time and I have some silk flower cleaner spray that is easy to restore color and freshness! Just spray completely and let air dry! also for dried flowers look in your local hobby store for cleaners and sprays to protect your flowers and get them freshened up and looking awesome again! Another idea too is, if the flowers are just getting to old and worn, but you love the container or basic wreath you can throw out the old flowers and redesign a new look!
Now, if your wanting a new floral design and want to just buy or have a custom made design you could try my shop for a new look at www.thebloomingcorner.com we have some beautiful designs for silk and dried flowers.
Another idea, I have for helping to cut down on costs for my outdoor flowers is to start buying perennials and adding to them every year so that your flower garden comes up beautifully every year without having to always replant annuals. I started this a few years back, and the results are magnificently beautiful. I have some perennials that come up in different times of the months and add new color and fullness to areas in my flower garden. A great way to enjoy your flowers and not have to spend a fortune every year for the beauty. I also have some beautiful silk flowers that are in some lovely outdoor containers in the shade on my porch, and not one person has known they weren't real! They look amazingly real and look spectacular on my porch! (I have chosen some quality silk flowers)
I have also made some wreaths and silk flower designs on unique metal designs for lovely door entryways! warm and so inviting to add to your home~ One more idea to add to projects is to paint a new color to either a room or maybe your outdoor deck! Color says so much and goes a long way to make a home look so refresh and warm! check out your local paint store for colors and bring some samples home to try out and see what would make your room or porch come alive again! It not only looks good, but makes your place look clean and inviting to your friends and family! I hope you have gotten some ideas for your spring projects and if you would like to share, please leave us a comment and let us know of some other awesome ideas you can offer~
